The National Payment Corporation of India plans to come out with new cards - a credit card and a payment card co-branded with Mudra Bank, said a top company official.
The company is also in discussions with China UnionPay and Japanese JCB Company enabling RuPay card holders to use the card in other parts of the world.
Speaking to reporters here, its chairman M Balachandran said the company would launch a new card for entrepreneurs partnering with Mudra Bank and a credit card next year.
According to him, the company will be doubling its transaction handling capacity to 40 million in two-months’ time and then further increase it to 100 million transactions per day.
This will enable handling of government subsidy transactions.
He said the company will conduct an e-Payments Literacy Workshop on Tuesday in around 120 locations across the country.
